Governor Northam Announces Fortune Auto North America Expansion in Powhatan

Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Fortune Auto North America, a U.S.-based manufacturer of high-performance racing suspension systems for Japanese and European vehicles, will invest $250,000 to expand its operation located at 1495 Oakbridge Terrace in Powhatan County. The company will add new equipment to meet increased demand and create 10 new jobs, doubling its workforce.

Powhatan Announces Business Winterization Grant

Due to COVID-19’s mandate for social distancing inside eating and drinking establishments, the need for outdoor seating has become pivotal to business survival to increase customer capacity. Powhatan County would like to assist these businesses with temporary modifications of their spaces. As part of the CARES Act funding Business Assistance Grant Program, this specific grant addresses those needs of businesses facing continued restrictions on capacity throughout the winter. The grant is for the reimbursement of funds spent on specific winterizing items. The funds must have been spent or be spent by December 30, 2020 to be applicable.

Powhatan Announces Second Round of Business Assistance Grants

Powhatan County Economic Development is pleased to announce the second round of the Powhatan Business Assistance Grant program. The grant program is funded using the Federal CARES Act funding, which the Powhatan Board of Supervisors have allocated $517,404.60 to assist small businesses in Powhatan. The second round has limited remaining funds available for disbursement. Round two opening on October 19th, 2020 and closing on November 2nd, 2020

Powhatan Business accepted into VALET Program

Powhatan business gets accepted in the Virginia Economic Development Partnership VALET program. Through the Powhatan County Economic Development department, Fortune Auto North America was referred to the state VITAL  program with VEDP to help the company with research into international markets for trade.
